Elisa Basso

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Health Centre on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the age of 93. Elisa (nee Giacometti), was the beloved wife of the late Andrea “Nini” Basso (April 21, 2008). Dear mother of Laura (Peter Romanelli), Louie (Joanne), and Sandra (Dave Van Vlymen). Beloved Nonna of Andy Romanelli (Nicole), Michelle Romanelli, Renee Thompson (Tyler), Ashlee Basso, Jessica and Wesley Van Vlymen. Great Nonna of Natasha and Vanessa Gobbi. Loving sister to Maria Maggiolo, Antonio Giacometti, Rita Casagrande, and predeased by brothers Secondo and Bonifacio of Italy. She will be dearly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends in Canada, Italy, and Argentina. Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntrye and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Sunday, April 6, 2014 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a vigil at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10:30 am with procession to Marymount Cemetery for entombment to follow.
