Elizabeth Dickens

Dickens, Elizabeth Ann (nee Lamont): Peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 70. Beloved wife for 50 years of Keith Dickens. Loving mother of Nancy (Warren Edgar), Judi (Mark Grebenc), and Heather Dickens. Caring grandmother of Alex, Tori and Julia Edgar; Dirk and Jack Grebenc; and Kara and Sawyer Hume. Dear sister-in-law of Karen Gonzales and step-sister of Mary Jean Affleck. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Lamont of Hamilton and sister Dorothy Lamont of Toronto. Liz was a retired teacher from Hamilton Wentworth. She enjoyed life and all it had to offer. She loved to travel, square dance, perform on stage, golf, and spend summers at Sauble Beach. A devoted fan to the numerous activities of all her family. After being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, she gained strength through the programs and support offered at Wellspring in Oakville. She will live on in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Liz's life will take place on Friday, March 25, 2011, in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Wellspring Halton-Peel, www.wellspring.ca, or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, www.sllcanada.org, would be appreciated by the family.
