Gary Chapman

April 12, 1949 – October 8, 2014 Gary Edward Chapman passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2014 at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer. Gary is predeceased by his father Eddie (Edwin), and is survived by his mother Betsy (nee Parry), his sister Ann (Chris) and brother John (Susan) all residing in the UK. Loving husband of Lin. Gary will be sadly missed by his daughter Sarah (James) and son Steve (Pam). Loving Grandpa to Owen and Graham. His loss will be deeply felt by numerous extended family and friends. Gary was born in Cardiff, South Wales and came to Canada in 1977 with Judy (nee Coslett). He first settled in Edmonton Alberta and then moved to Guelph in 1984. Gary had a very full life, becoming President of Mandel Scientific Ltd (1998); then Owner/Operator of Audio Access after his retirement. Being onstage was his passion, starting in rock bands as a teen, and into his adult life. He was active in community theatre and was very much involved onstage and backstage with Guelph Little Theatre and Royal City Musical Productions, Anna Marie Oliver School of Dance and the River Run Centre. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph (519-821-5077) on Thursday, October 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel, on Friday, October 10th at 2:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Friends are invited to join the family at Shakespeare Arms following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
