

After a brief battle with cancer George passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington early in the morning on Tuesday, August 4th at the age of 75. His last day was spent surrounded by his family and friends and once he knew his family was safe and comfortable he breathed his last breath. George was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Manja of nearly 49 years and a dear Father and Opa to Anitra and Mark Hofstee - Lauren, Kirstin, Bethany and Jillian; Mike and Nicole Ensing - Shaina, Joshua and Miranda; Carolyn Ensing & Terri Archer - Adam; Valerie and Tony Lacivita. Also left to mourn his passing are his brothers Gerry (Jane), John (Bonnie) and Henk (Wilma), brothers-in-law Ed (the late Christien), and Hans (Joke), and his dear friends Harry and Barb. George is predeceased by his brother Wim (Tonny) and sister Teresa (Walter), and his brother-in-law John. Also survived by many nieces and nephews who love him.
The family will receive friends at the First Christian Reformed Church, 287 Water Street on Friday, August 7th between 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. On Saturday, August 8th everyone is welcome to attend a Celebration of George's Life in the Church at 11:30am. A private interment will take place prior to the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Christian Reformed Church's Building Project - "Project Glory" or Woodland Christian High School would be appreciated by the family. On Saturday, August 8, 2015 there will be a private interment for the family followed by a Celebration of George's Life at First Christian Reformed Church, 287 Water St. at 11:30 a.m.
