It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Meredith on Saturday October 23, 2021, in her 79th year. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family at Hospice Wellington. Predeceased by her loving husband Garry Meredith (2013). Beloved mother to Tina Meredith Chapman (Steve), Wade Meredith (Lori), Terri Meredith Hopgood (Tom), Crystal Meredith Brennamen (Trevor) and Greg Hughey. Cherished Grandmother to Thomas, Analecia, Taylor, Hunter, Pyper and Connor. Predeceased by her mother Doris McPherson Bandy, her father Douglas McPherson and her stepfather Elmer Bandy.
Helen was born and raised in Bancroft, Ontario. She married Garry in 1964. They settled in their forever home in Guelph, Ontario in 1974 where they raised their family. While her children were young, Helen provided home daycare. She later sought work outside the home once her children were in school, often working midnights so she could continue to be there for her family. When Helen became a grandmother, she was just as devoted to her grandchildren, showing them the same magical world full of love and support that she had shown her children. Even with her dedication to her family, Helen still found time to take care of so many others over the years who were unable to take care of themselves. She will always be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor.
Special thanks to family, friends and neighbors as well as doctors, nurses and personal support workers from the LHIN, Qualicare, Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington for all of your support as Helen’s health deteriorated.
