Ian Lindsay Clemes

CLEMES, Dr. Ian Lindsay MD, FRCS(c) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Guelph General Hospital. Dr. Clemes was born in Toronto and spent over 40 years practising medicine and surgery in Guelph, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife Doris (Berwick), his first wife Norene (McKenzie), children Blake, Barb, John, Jill, and Blair, step-daughter Gia Lucchetta-Dane, grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Reagan, Mischi, Josephine, Clarisse, and Eden, sons-in-law Joe Buszowski, Brent Lang, and Doug Dane, and daughters-in-law Anne (Oliver), Francoise (Alix), and Jeni (Mah). Dr. Clemes is predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Mary (Wilson), and by his son Bradley Ian who died tragically earlier this year. Dr. Clemes was a graduate of the University of Toronto and president of the Medical class of 1949. He was honourably discharged as Surgeon Lieutenant from the Canadian Army (1950-1953) and the Royal Canadian Navy (1953-1956) reserves. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Sunday, December 6, 2009 (3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.). A Funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
