J. Edward Jones

Jones, J. Edward C. - Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Guelph General Hospital. Ed age 96 years, will now be happily reunited in Heaven with his loving wife Mary (2005). Born February 17, 1914 in Toronto York County. He is survived by his daughters Marilyn ( Richard Buckner), Nancy Brown , and Susanne (Wayne Johnson). Ed was the dear grandfather of Jacqueline, Richard Jr. (2005), Michael, Michael (Ruth), Robert (Leilani), Christopher (Christine), Thomas (Tara), and Jeffrey ( Clio), and great-grandfather of Stephanie, Madison, and Jordann. Ed lived in Newmarket for 49 years and moved to Guelph in 2007. Ed was an amazing athlete in High School, an avid golfer and curler in Newmarket and Florida. He was a member of the Lions Club in Newmarket and the Patterson Lodge Freemasons of Thornhill. He worked as a Photo Engraver journeyman and trained apprentices all his life in Canada and the USA. Private cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 1- 3 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. .
