

STINSON, JANET ELIZABETH (NÉE NICHOLS) DECEMBER 1, 1941– FEBRUARY 5, 2011 After a determined and valiant struggle with cancer, Janet passed away at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on February 5, 2011 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Irving Stinson, Janet was the cherished mother of Lorelei (David), Carolyn, and Kevin (Meggen), and dear grandmother of Emily, Michael, Sarah, Mandy, Tyler, and Lucas. Loved sister of Carole (Harold) Weber, she was predeceased by her parents, Marjorie and Roy Nichols of Harriston. Many in Guelph will remember Janet as an active member of the Red Hat Society (Red Poppy Gals) as well as the Newcomers Club; she was also an enthusiastic volunteer at the River Run Centre. Prior to her retirement, Janet had been a long-time employee with Ontario Pork, working initially in accounting, then in marketing. Along with her family, her many colleagues and friends will greatly miss the joy and laughter that Janet brought into all their lives. Special thanks to Dr. Robinson, the staff at Hospice Wellington, the nursing staff on 4th W and 5th W floors at Guelph General Hospital, and to Dr. Hirte at the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton. Family and friends are invited to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home "Hart Chapel" on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011 at 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, N1G 4X9, for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A reception at the Hart Chapel will follow.
