Jin Long Yang

YANG, Jin Long - Jin Long Yang passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side at home in Guelph after his brave battle with cancer on Sunday, June 6, 2021, aged 56 years. He was the beloved husband of Sam Ly and loving father of Annie and Kelly. Predeceased by his parents Thi Tai Ly and Nam Ngoc Duong.

Jin was employed at CGL manufacturing for 20 years until he was diagnosed with cancer. Jin took a leave of absence to focus on his chemo treatments and fought courageously against the cancer for almost 5 years.

Jin was known to be very welcoming and generous whenever his family and friends came to visit him. He would often start off with boiling some green tea or offering a can of beer or wine to his guests. Jin had a passion for karaoke-ing and loved to play his favourite music through his surround sound speaker systems on his days off at home. In the summer time, Jin also loved to head over to Guelph Lake in the evening to fish and bring some fish back home to pan fry and eat with his family.

His family would like to give their heart felt thanks to all his doctors and nurses at Guelph General Hospital (Dr. Golu, Dr. Robinson), Grand River Hospital (Dr. Molckovsky, Dr. Gopaul), and to his community nurses at BayShore (Kelly and Faith), whom have provided their wonderful support to Jin throughout these past 5 years.

Even though cancer took Jin away too early from us, he still continued to live a fulfilling life and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
