Laurie Elizabeth Archibald

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurie Elizabeth Archibald. Laurie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Guelph General Hospital Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at the age of 69.

Laurie was born April 20th, 1956, in Guelph Ontario. Laurie spent her younger years just outside of Guelph, in Ospringe Ontario, she also spent twenty years in Calgary Alberta before returning home to Guelph in 2000.

Laurie was predeceased by her mother Margaret Arlene Anderson (Fisher) and father Fredrick James Archibald. Laurie will be missed by her sister Julie Brubacher, sister Judy Maltby and is predeceased by her brother Steven Archibald (Marie). Laurie will also be missed by nieces and nephews Todd Fountain, Kim Boyes, Chad Archibald (Courtney) and Rikki Schoenfeld as well she was special “Aunt Lulu” to Sebastian. Laurie loved her fur baby Zoey, and Zoey will miss her walks and cuddles with Laurie.

Laurie had many interests that included gardening, she loved puttering in her yard and took great pride in her accomplishments. She loved decorating and looking for the perfect items from Homesense. Laurie also loved spending time at the casino and playing cards or scrabble with friends and family.

A Celebration of Life to honour Laurie will be held in a few weeks. Details will be shared at a later date.
