

ALESSIO, Mark - Was killed suddenly in Antananarivo, Madagascar very early Monday, February 23, 2009. Mark was only 43. He was a free spirit, adventurer and teacher. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Ria and her spouse Jack Marentette of Guelph; his father, Marco Alessio and his spouse Sharon of Grande Prairie; his brother Michael Alessio and his wife Laura of Elora. He was a special friend to Heike Braun of Germany; uncle to Emily and Luke Alessio of Elora; step brother to Alex and Margo Zahara of Grande Prairie; and step-uncle to Margo's son Josh. He is also survived by his Nona Caterina Alessio of Guelph. Mark had many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. He will be missed by his many friends in Canada and from different parts of the world where he taught and traveled. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home , "Hart Chapel" , 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph where the family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday March 1, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Internment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
