Peggy passed away peacefully in her 90th year at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Guelph, Ontario, on Saturday, January 9, 2021.
Beloved wife of Wilfrid for more than 66 years. Loving mother to Kathryn (Miguel), Leslie, David (Christine); proud Nanny to Devon (Thomas), Drew, Ruby, Julia, Natalie and Matthew; loved great grandnanny to Everett and Maeve. Peggy is predeceased by her parents and brothers Douglas and David, and survived by brother Ronald.
Peggy was born in Gananoque in 1931. She married Wilf in 1954 and they moved to the Toronto area, settling to raise their family in Markham and then Brantford. She will be fondly remembered by relatives and friends in Brantford, Markham, Gananoque and the Kingston area.
In the 1960's and 70's, Peggy was a tireless volunteer and founding member of the Markham Figure Skating Club, spending many hours at the rink helping young skaters, designing costumes and directing many of the annual carnivals. She loved oil painting, was a member of the Brant Visual Artists Guild, and many of her works are proudly displayed in the homes of family and friends.
Family sincerely thanks Nurse Shannon from Bayshore for her support and guidance over the past few weeks, the staff at Chartwell Royal on Gordon and Whispering Oaks Unit at St. Joseph’s in Guelph.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to charities of your choice.
