Michael Gerald Hauser

Passed away after a courageous five-year battle with cancer at Hospice Wellington on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the age of 53 years. Beloved husband of Katherine (nee Andrews). Loved father of Linda, Lena, Jadan and Tyrus. Dear brother of Anita Godry nee Hauser (husband John Godry, daughter Annalyn), the late and beloved James Hauser (deceased 1995), Daniel Hauser (wife Adèle Labbé, daughter Maeve & son Miles), and Susie Airdrie. Predeceased by his beloved mother, Linda Hauser (1992). Son of Gerald Hauser (partner Margarete Airdrie). Son-in-law of Judith Hodges. Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, parenting partner Kimberley Munroe, best friends Jonathan Forbes, John Graham, Kordian Zwolinski, Paul ‘PK’ Kendall and countless other dear friends and co-workers. Especially missed by his canine companions Koopa, Dash and Toad.

Michael (‘Doogie’) and brother Daniel (‘Pablo’) founded a Guelph bar & restaurant they named Doogie’s and Pablo’s in 1997 - which became a legendary Guelph institution that hosted many talented live acts and brought many of friends and co-workers together, introduced couples and hosted sports teams for the many years they operated it.

At Michael’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life held at The Stampede Ranch on October 9, 2021 from 1-5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Hospice Wellington to honour their incredible staff, or the Downie & Wenjack fund - Doogie was The Tragically Hip’s biggest fan, and fully supported Gord’s commitment to improving the lives of First Peoples in Canada.
