

McKAY, Murray Passed away peacefully at Riverside Glen, Guelph, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 91. Murray McKay was the beloved husband of the late Helen Agnes (Diebolt) McKay for 67 years. Murray was a WWII Veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was the loving father of Nan McKay of Paris, ON, Patricia Thalman, Chris (Eva) of Mississauga, Mike (Nadia Toscan), Jo-Anne Konings (Jack) of Cambridge and Sandy McIntyre (Bill Cooke) of Fergus. Murray was the proud grandfather of Tamara (Jason Cooper), Ben (Jill Hermansen), Derek (Suzanne), Katrina, Stacy, Lee (Tana), Samantha (Adam) and Jonathan. He was an especially proud great-grandfather to Braden, Charlotte, Michael and Roland. Dear brother-in-law of Sister Mary Grace Diebolt and Donna Diebolt. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Dorothy (Weston), brother Donald who was in the RCAF and died over the English Channel WWII April 1941, brother Colin (Shirley Cash) and sister Dora Longo (Joe). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Jim, Reubin, Victor, Andy Diebolt and Howard Weber. Also predeceased by sisters-in-law Edna Weber, Monica, Olive, Angie Perras, Kitty Diebolt and Wilma Schmidt. A special thank you to Fr. Jerzy Tomon, Dr. Kodalik, all the staff at Riverside Glen and in particular Brianne for all of her special care. Murray loved life and treasured its simplicity. He was a true gentleman with a soulful spirit. May you rest in peace, you are now with Mom. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil will be held at 8:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Parish, 45 Victoria Road North, Guelph on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will be held at Marymount Cemetery at a later date.
