

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Neil passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Cherished husband to Shirley (Checkley), devoted father to Lorie (Lawrence), Lynne (Ron), Sandra (Dennis), Carol (Andy), Debbie (Paul) and Jody (2012)
Proud grandfather to Jordan, Whitney, Sam, Doug, Mallory, Megan, Craig, Matthew, Eric, Emily, Zachary, Grayson, and Caleb.
Delighted great grandfather to Dylan, Taylor, Brody, Sage, Hallie, Brighton, Watson, Jack and Declan.
Brother to Jean (Harry Cellini deceased), Jack (deceased), Doug (Donna), Yvonne (Clint Muir), Donna (Gerald Hie). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Neil was born in Guelph grew up on a farm on the Elora Rd. His time was spent going to school, working on the farm, and helping his family.
He worked for 42 years at General Electric and during that time he got married, started a family, and built his own home.
In his spare time Neil enjoyed spending time with his family, playing sports and took great pleasure in maintaining his yard and garden. He also liked to help others and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He helped install lights at the Ponsonby ballpark where he umpired and was a proud member or the Maryhill Knights of Columbus.
In his retirement he took great delight in spending time with his grandchildren, ice skating, biking, and woodworking.

Private Cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel 252 Dublin St, N., Guelph, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 12 noon.
A reception to celebrate Neil’s life to follow in the Church Hall.
