The Rugged Young Slugger from Guelph was the name he was known for in the 1950’s. He was a lightweight, welterweight, earned the golden gloves, and he was a fan favourite. He would often box at the Palace Pier in Toronto. If a decision went against Pat his supporters from Guelph would loudly make their displeasure known. In the 1970’s Pat had a boxing club downtown Guelph where Kids could go, he taught them discipline rather than fighting and it kept them off the Streets. He wanted every kid to have a chance. He would buy or have extra equipment at the gym, and give it to kids that couldn’t afford it. Uncle Pat you were the fun Uncle (Funcle) and we all have wonderful memories of our childhood with you.
We will miss you immensely.
RIP….Until we meet again
