Richard Davis

Davis, Dr. Richard Cecil MD, CCFP, FCFP. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 following a courageous battle with acute myologeneus leukemia. Rick was the loving husband for almost 35 years to June Davis and the cherished father of Emory, Deirdre and Eric. He is survived by his brother Ken Davis and his wife Hideko of Toronto and was predeceased by his brother Robert and by his parents Arthur and Edna Davis. He will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws Betty Sands, Irvine Nichols and Rosemary Wilson and will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, staff and Doctors at the Arbour Medical Centre. Rick was a proud graduate of Centennial High School in Guelph, University of Guelph in ’78 and the University of Toronto, Medicine 8T3. His family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to commemorate Rick’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery with a reception following in the fellowship lounge of the funeral home. If so desired, donations to the Guelph General Hospital, Hospital for Sick Children or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by his family. A special thanks to Drs. Wasi, Kourougis and Hillis. N.P. Tammy DeGelder and all the nurses at ODS Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, and to Drs. Chan, Phelphs, Ganapathy, Naeem, and all the nurses at the Guelph General Hospital. Your kindness and compassion at our time of need is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to all the blood donors.
