Roberta Helena Bobbie Brandon

Roberta Helena Brandon (Bobbie) Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 7, 1924, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Harmony House Retirement Home in Guelph, Ontario on October 8, 2008. Bobbie was the third of four children born to Regina lawyer Robert Brandon, and Wilhelmina (Willa) Speers Brandon. She lived with her sister, Esther Brandon, in the family home that her parents built on Albert Street in 1925, until she was 79. Bobbie worked until retirement for the Saskatchewan Government's Department of Education, delivering mail throughout the office building. Bobbie loved to travel with her mother and sister, and she made many trips across Canada, through several States including Hawaii, and to Europe. She was a faithful member at Knox Metropolitan United Church in Regina until she moved to Harmony House Retirement Home in Guelph in May, 2005 to be with her remaining family. She enjoyed the music and fellowship at Harcourt Memorial United Church. Bobbie was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Esther Brandon and Norah Brandon Cowley, her brother Tom Brandon, as well as her close friend of 65 years, Cameron (Cammie) Champ. Bobbie is survived by: nieces Peg Brandon, Barbara (Brandon) Buck, and Elizabeth Cowley; nephews Rob, Peter and Michael Cowley, and Bob and Tom Brandon; 11 great nieces and nephews; a great-great niece and nephew; and long-time family friend Nancy Browne and her son and daughter. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, with Rev. Peter Cowley of Cayuga United Church officiating.
