Sylvia Lorraine Porter

Passed away peacefully, with family by her side at Hospice Wellington on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the age of 84 years. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Porter for 64 wonderful years. Sylvia was the cherished mother of Brian (Pam) Porter and Karen Serre (Gary Carroll). She was the proud and loving Grandma of Krista (David) Collins, Shauna Porter, Kyley (Dillin) Wiwczor and Staci Porter and Special Grandma to her great-grandchildren, her favourites, Olivia, Porter, Lennox, Rowyn, Miller, Collin, Baby Girl to be and great granddog Lizzie. Sylvia will be truly missed by her sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Esther (née Balconi) Tapson.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff on 4E at the Guelph General Hospital and to the amazing staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Sylvia, Ron and family. You are all angels!

Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, Guelph, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
