Terry passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Hospice Wellington at the age of 87. Terry was born in San Zenone Treviso and grew up in Bessica Di Loria, Italy before immigrating to Canada in 1955. In 1960, the love of his life, Rosetta Pellizzari, came from Italy to begin their marriage of 64 years in Guelph. Together, they started a beautiful family that they prioritized above all else.
Terry worked for various construction companies as a carpenter before starting his own business, Artuso Carpentry Ltd., in 1977. With a hammer, saw, and his toolbox, he could make anything from wood and was revered as a Master Carpenter by many of his customers due to his impeccable craftsmanship. With the help of his brothers and friends, he built his own family home where he lived until his final days.
While he worked hard, he always made time for family activities, Sunday mass, and annual holidays in Southampton. In retirement, he enjoyed days at the beach and evening campfires with his grandchildren at 'Nonno's Trailer' in Port Elgin.
Terry will be remembered as a man of honesty, integrity, and respect by many. His love of family will live on through his loving and supportive wife Rosetta, his two children Gary (Louise) and Luisa Artuso (John), 7 grandchildren, Michele (Lynsey), Stefano, Alessia (Blake), Erica, Marisa, Kristen, and Naomi, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Elio, Carter, and Chase. He will also be missed by his brother, Oddo, and sister Maria. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, Aldo, Silvio, Pierro, and Erminio.
Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, where the family will receive their friends on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady 28 Norfolk St., Guelph on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 10 a.m. Cremation. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the Funeral Home or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
