Velma Drummond

DRUMMOND, Velma Elizabeth (Val) -- Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph, on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Velma Elizabeth (Val) (Fleming) Drummond, in her 86th year, was the beloved wife of the late Wilbert (Wib) Drummond (2012). She was the loving mother of Robert Drummond (Nina) of Breslau, Linda Bellai, Catherine Drummond (John Scott) and Leslie Brooks (Ken) , all of Guelph. Val was the proud grandmother of Deanne, Shannon, Andrew, Matthew, Kaitlin, Tara, Erica and Daniel, and great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Mabel Fleming, her two brothers Jack and Jim Fleming, and by one grandson Jeffrey Bellai. Survived also by nieces and nephews. Mom devoted her life to her family. She lived life to the fullest which was expressed in so many ways, including gardening, painting, decorating, and cooking. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Val will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation, Guelph, or to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
