William Devorski

DEVORSKI, Ralph William “Bill” (1930-2015) – Bill passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Cherished husband and best friend of Bernadette Devorski (nee Ryan). Loving father of the late Mark (1989), Paul (Stacey Hamamura), John, Anne (Larry Wilson), Mary (Jen Tait), Margaret (Paul Larmer), Greg (Tamara Bozoian) and Dana Marie. Beloved grandpa of Luk and Elle Devorski, Ben, Ryan and Zach Wilson, Catherine and Hannah Larmer, Rachel and Danielle Devorski. Predeceased by his mother, Marja and grandmother, Anastasia. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. With a passion for the game of hockey, Bill was one of seven founding members of the Guelph Hockey Referees Association, serving in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) for 35 years, inducted to both the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame and University of Guelph Gryphons Hall of Fame. Bill was most proud to have mentored many hockey officials who went on to work in the National Hockey League, including sons Paul and Greg. The family is deeply grateful for home care and support provided by ParaMed, Bayshore and CCAC. Resting at the Gilbert McIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 8:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at The Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Church of Our Lady Building Fund or charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
