

Ada A. Kegg, age 94, formerly of Gurnee, passed away at Parkside Manor in Kenosha on March 29, 2023. Ada was born in Waukegan to Mariano and Rose (Cusimano) Lo Monaco. She attended local schools and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1947. Ada married John Kegg in 1950 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1950 and the couple had a wonderful 59 years together. Ada and her sister took over their family’s business, Marian’s Boutique, which they ran for over 30 years. Ada was a member of St. Dismas for many years and was very active in the Woman’s Club, which she served as President and she also ran the Christmas Bazar with her sisters. She was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Gurnee for a number of years and started their daily rosary prayer. Ada enjoyed needlepoint and sewing (which helped for the kids Halloween costumes), crossword puzzles and she will be remembered as an outstanding cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband; two sons, Daniel and Jerrald Kegg; a brother, Sam Lo Monaco and her sister, Rose Niemi.
Ada is survived by, three children, Nancy (Gary) Taylor, John (Jayne) Kegg and Scott Kegg; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Millie Seay as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ada will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church (6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL) with interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery (Libertyville, IL). A visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
