

Andrea B. Rupert, age 64, of Gurnee, Il, passed away October 10, 2010 in Highland Park, IL. She was born April 22, 1946 in Astoria, Oregon. Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waukegan, IL. She was a Budget Analyst, NAVFAC, Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Family includes, Daughters Ann (Roger) Adkins of Gurnee, Kim Muller of Waukegan, grandchildren Jake, Caitlyn, and Peter Adkins; sisters Betty (Mike) Hart of Keizer, Oregon, Kay Kennedy of Courtney, British Columbia, Canada; brother David (Teresa Montgomery) Kennedy of Ashland, Oregon; brother-in-law Jack (Rita) Wendland of Mankato, MN; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Rupert; her Mother and StepFather, Eva and Leo Kennedy; her sister Evelyn Wendland; her father, Abraham Polso. Andrea and her family lived in many places throughout the U.S. until 1986 when they settled in Gurnee. She was devoted to maintaining family connections, visiting the Northwest annually. When each of her three grandchildren were ten, she took them on a 'heritage tour' back to her roots in the Northwest to meet their extended family. When her children were growing up, she opened her home to their friends, providing a positive role model and listening ear to her daughters' teenage friends. She died peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. The devotion her daughters showed during her illness exemplifies what a wonderful mother she was. She lived a beautiful, loving life. Services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 824 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan, IL on Thursday, October 14, 2010, viewing at 9:00 a.m., service at 10:00 a.m. with Clergy Pastor Brad Davick officiating. Visitation Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
