Annabelle (Annie, Toots) enjoyed a challenging and rewarding 40+yr career as an operating room RN at St Therese and Victory Memorial hospitals. She was an original member of the Filthy AC's, the Dog House group and a co-founder of the Knutt Family. She enjoyed singing bass with both the Sweet Adelines and the Viking Park Singers for many years. While she had put her bowling ball down for years she picked it back up again 30 years ago and enjoyed league play with her daughters and met and became friends with some wonderful people. Highlights of her bowling career include at least one 200 game in all but her last season, winning the Senior Tournament in the 2007-2008 season and being inducted into the Waukegan Area USBC WBA Bowling Hall of Fame, Bowler of Yesteryear in 2018. Annabelle loved playing poker and mahjong (for MONEY!) and recently started playing bingo.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Michael, several life long very dear friends and her sister Eleanore (Krause).
Annabelle is survived by her sister Leona (John) Heffelfinger, her children Julie (WL) Robinson, Lisa (Brian) Smith, Nancy (Joe) Jennings, Jim (Sandy) Jennings and her "adopted daughter" Teresa Wacyk. She was a dear grandma to a multitude of grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren (and knew that number would be increasing by 2 soon). "Tante Toots" or Aunt Annie to several nieces and nephews and MANY more extended family and friends who loved her dearly! Always an animal lover, Annabelle is also survived by her last "fur baby" Lilly.
She was the rock of a large family and will be sorely missed.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday March 14th at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee 10:30-12:30.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Save a Pet, a cause near and dear to her heart.
