Papi today and always I think about you and how much I miss you. When I’m eating an ice cream cone, listening to your music, or sometimes I’ll hear your voice and memories when I see my kids playing in the water. You taught me so so much and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to instill all the values and knowledge in my children. 

1 Thessalonians 4:13–18: "we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words". This verse is often cited as a promise of reunion with departed loved ones.

My sincere condolences to the Torres Family for their loss!  I am deeply sorry your family is experiencing the pain of a loss like this!  My heart goes out to each and everyone of you. My thoughts and prayers to the Torres family. My parents were friends with Mr. and Mrs. Torres and their friendship now spans four generations. May he Rest In Peace and may God give you each strength to get through your loss.I will always remember his enormous smile.  Bendiciones a todos! I was not as privileged as his family was, to know this man for a long time. I did not make countless memories with him as his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren did. But with the few moments that I did spend with him were wonderful. Not many people have the ability to warm your heart with just their smile and their eyes like he was able to do. Judging by the outpouring of love, it seems that your warmth touched many. I thank you for all the kindness that you showed me. You will be missed but remembered eternally.



Antonio, 

I’ve never gotten the pleasure to meet you. But, it seemed like over the past eight years of your granddaughter working for me I’ve gotten to know you. She would always quote you in all she did. You taught all your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the qualities that it takes to be a successful, hardworking, and brave human being. When Nathaniel would speak of you his whole face would light up as he told me stories of how you walked him around the block, how you went into the ocean with him, and my favorite how you would share cheese with him. 

It’s an honor to have known of an amazing Waukegan legend such as yourself. My condolences are with the Torres family during this time and in the future. 

I have had the privilege and blessing of being friends with the Torres family for more than 20 years. I have shared many fun memories of good times and laughter.  Sr. Torres always had a smile on his face and you could always count on him to tell a great story or joke. He had the charm to make anyone around him laugh and make them feel like they were part of his family. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. May he rest in peace and God bless his family.

 We only had the privilege of meeting Antonio a couple of times. We were impressed with his friendliness and his generosity. He invited us to visit his home in Mexico . Another time we went out for breakfast with them and he would not allow us to pay. We were disappointed we didn’t get to know him better. We would like to express our sympathy and condolences to the family.

I was so blessed to have the pleasure of being introduced to the Torres family. I’ll forever miss his charming character and his smile he was always so happy and always welcomed us with open arms.If I wasn’t in a good mood his smile and charm put me in good mood.Enjoyed seeing him at Nate’s games and always had snacks to share. Papi, you were more than a grandpa to me. You were my best friend. You taught me how to work hard and to never give up. Over the years you’ve told me stories of struggles you’ve overcome to get where you were. From teaching me that money didn’t grow on tree, how to budget, how to respect my elders, how to have manner, and most importantly how to honor God in all that I do. Because of that I know this isn’t a goodbye but it’s a see you later. I’m so so lucky to have had you as not only my grandfather but, as a bonus dad and an AMAZING “tońo” to my children. I’m so blessed that they got to know you. I’m so blessed that they got to make amazing memories with you too. Thank you papa for never giving up on me. I love you so so much. 

We had the great privilege of knowing Sr. Torres and were able to socialize with him and his dear family.  He was a very kind and happy man who lived for his wife and kids.  He was a true family man!  He and his wife were regulars at the Lake County YMCA when it was still open which he attended and was very sociable.  
Deepest condolences and prayers for his dear family during this time.  May he Rest In Peace. 

Tio, you will be missed.  You always were cheerful and talkative, I will miss you on Fridays at my grandpa’s house. My son is going to miss his tocayo. 

In Waukegan, we lived across the street from the Torres family.  Tony Torres Sr. was the matriarch of the family  and a great neighbor to everyone in the neighborhood.  I can still picture him walking to his car and waving to us with a big smile on his face.  His children supported us when”Mr. Zens” passed away in January which was a blessing to all of us. My sympathy goes out to the entire Torres family as I know that he will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. Love to the Torres family “Mrs.Zens”

 No digo Adios sino un hasta luego al Buen amigo y Compañero de Trabajo Sr. Antonio Torres , siempre recordaremos tu Sonrisa y tu alegre  amistad, mis condolencias a su familia y a toda la Familia Torres de Uriangato.

My family has so many fine memories of Antonio and his family, they have welcomed our family with open arms.  We became part of the family when my daughter fell in love with one of his sons, we have shared so many memories in these twenty plus years.  But one of our best memories was being asked to join them in their winter home in Mexico and to be part of their 50th Wedding  Anniversary celebration, and if that wasn't enouoh they were great tour guides.

Los acompañamos en sus sentimientos en su gran perdida. Dios les de resignación.
