Barbara L. Keefe

Barbara L. Keefe, 76 of Waukegan, passed away peacefully at home January 27, 2011. She was born September 16, 1934 in Waukegan to Wesley and Dorothy Slocum. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and most recently a member of St. Dismas Church. She married John (Jack) Keefe on July 2, 1955. She was involved in I.C. and St. Dismas school and church activities. For most of her life she was a homemaker but in later years she worked in the benefits office at Plumbers Local 93. She loved to garden, was an avid bowler for over 30 years, but mostly loved her family and spending time with them. She is survived by her children Kimberly Evans,Timothy (Karen) Keefe,Mary Jo (Joseph) Keefe, Thomas (Beth) Keefe,Michael (Kelly) Keefe and Laura (Scott) Clark,17 grandchildren,her brother William Slocum of Florida,and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years John Joseph Keefe,her granddaughter Chaneice Cermak,her parents Wesley and Dorothy Slocum,and her son in-law Ronald Evans.Visitation will be from 5-8 pm at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee 305 Cemetery Rd. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 and 9-10 am Wednesday,February 2, 2011 at St. Dismas Catholic Church 2600 Sunset Ave. Waukegan Il. with Mass to follow 10am.
