Beverly J. Christenson

Beverly J. Christenson (nee Shields), 81, passed away peacefully at home in Libertyville, IL on February 20, 2017. Born February 24, 1935, Beverly grew up in Waukegan, IL, the only daughter of Willard and Lucille Shields. She was the devoted wife of Eric Christenson for 54 years and a loving mother. A lifetime resident of Lake County, IL, Beverly spent many winters in Naples, Florida with Eric enjoying golf and good times with their many friends. Beverly was an avid golfer and a member of Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan and La Playa Golf Course and La Playa Beach Club in Naples, FL for many years. She was a devoted Packers fan and enjoyed spending time with family and many friends. She will be remembered for her passion for life, her devotion to her family, her strong will and her wicked sense of humor. She made friends everywhere she went and left an impression on everyone she met. She is survived by her children, Dawn (Mike) Muratori of Island Lake, Tim (Sue) Christenson of Wadsworth, and Kelli (Nelson) Bosacoma of Northbrook; grandchildren, Ryan (Christine) Rasmussen, Tim Jr. (Kourtney) Christenson, Brandon (Kristin) Christenson, Stephanie (Tim Van Horn) Christenson, Tiffany (Ryan) Gonzalez, Lucia Bosacoma and Marco Bosacoma; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Aaron, and Barbara Courington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Christenson. The family extends its deepest gratitude to Beverly's dedicated and loving team of caregivers who allowed her to live her final years with grace and dignity. Special thanks to Shannon Krause who Beverly loved like a daughter and to Rosa Garcia and Carmen Wright. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Marsh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 24, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, at the funeral home.
