Brian Howard Paterson

Brian H. Paterson, age 41, passed away suddenly at home on March 23, 2026, and went into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus. Brian was the beloved son of Howard and Theresa Paterson, brother of Heather Paterson (Eugene Bayona) and Matthew Paterson. Fond uncle to McKenzie Bayona.

Brian enjoyed cycling from a young age, which developed into a passion for the sport of mountain biking in his mid-twenties. In 2009 he placed 2nd in the Michigan Ice Man Cometh Challenge. Brian also proudly competed for more than a decade in WORS (Wisconsin Off Road Series), along with his brother Matthew, earning numerous awards and eventually attaining “Elite” status.

Brian earned an Associate Degree from the College of Lake County in CAD (Computer Aided Design) and was employed by Mionske Surveying in Northern Illinois for many years. He later moved to southern Wisconsin to work for the Trek Bicycle Company in Waterloo where he was currently employed as a Network Engineer.

Brian was a conscientious, peace-loving man who greatly enjoyed soaking in the beauty of God’s creation. He also enjoyed traveling around the country, sometimes accompanied by his brother Matthew. His family will remember him as a loving, devoted, helpful son and brother, and he will be greatly missed. A visitation for Brian will be held at Marsh funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 3:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm. Interment will be private. For further information please call 847-336-0127.
