Brian W. Winandy, born Oct. 16, 1972, a 14-year veteran of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and a former U.S. Marine, passed away on June 28, 2012, at his home. He was the devoted father of Jarred; loving son of Kathleen and the late Peter H. Ill; dear brother of Kim; caring former husband of Andrea Perrin; beloved grandson of Francis Collins, and the late William and Jane Collins, and Peter H II and Raetta Winandy; treasured nephew to many; cherished companion to Armida Powell; and brother in blue to countless. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee, from 2 to 8 p.m., and Friday, July 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. Services will follow at St. Mary's of Vernon Church, 236 Route 45, Indian Creek, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winandy Memorial Fund, c/o FOP Lodge 66, P.0.
