CA, you were one in a million! I will cherish my memories with you always. Our trips to Florida, getting caught in a torrential storm while deep sea fishing, all the card games (yes, down is down!), Heidi scaring the hell out of us in Crivitz, the list goes on. We’ve shared many laughs and a few tears over the years and I wouldn’t change that for anything. It was an honor to be your daughter-in-law and your friend. Rest In Peace. Sending all my love and heart felt condolences to the Anderson family. 
 


I remember this visual like it was yesterday. We were on a fishing trip with Claud, Fred Gilson, Ray Parpan in Minnesota on Ray Lake. Each morning after breakfast we would all make our way down to our boats to fish in for the day. Claud would stand on the dock and everyone who was part of the fishing crew know what was coming next. Claud would hold his hand over his heart and sing the song.  "Onward Christian Soldier"  To this day, I think that was the coolest thing a person could do. It showed his strong belief in his faith and country.   Tommy Parpan.

Many memories of Uncle Andy (We always referred to Claude as Andy). My more recent memories are when Uncle Andy & Aunt Tootie (Marie) came up to Minnesota to visit my mom & me a number of years ago. He loved my E&J Brandy. I still have the bottle with about a quarter left in it.  A few years later my brothers & I went to Fox Lake to visit Tootie, Andy, Dale & Lisa. Had some good pizza and shared some memories together. Uncle Andy you will be missed.  Thoughts & prayers to Aunt Tootie & my cousins.

Dear Anderson Family,  Claude will always be remembered with a smile on his face.  He was a great friend to our family the good olde days in Lindenhurst, IL.   He will be missed by many. Keeping all of you in my prayers.  Kathy (Mertes-Clayton) Jansen and the rest of my siblings Debbie,Tim, Terry, Jeff, Chris & Craig and families.  Along with my children Rob (Jeni) Clayton & Kelly (Brian) Tolbert.

This is your cousin, Phil Kell. It has been a few years since my brothers and I visited your Mom ( Aunt Tootie) & Dad (Uncle Andy)
in their Gurnee home. We met with Lisa and Dale. It was a short visit, but totally fun.  Lisa won't remember, but Frank, Dale & Roger might that we once lived nearby in Grandwood Park, Gurnee. This would have been around 1961-63.

A couple of things that I recall about Uncle Andy: He once arrested me for shoplifting at a local store. I lifted some candy with a friend.
No, I didn't have to go to jail. He just told my dad. Another time he let me carry some rabbits he'd shot. He was always interesting.

I was sad to hear of his passing. He had a long life and I know that he enjoyed Life. He seemed to me to always be in a good mood and to be doing something. Of course, this is a child's recollection, but the way he was always stuck with me. Later when I saw him as an adult, he seemed to be that same person - unchanged.

Please give my love to your Mom and to all of you. I will always think of him with a smile on my face. May your sorrow turn to joy as you remember your Father. Peace be upon you all.

C A I chose not to morn this day but to relish in days gone by.
 You were a spirited individual and a good friend , we had many a fine time together.
 You are one of a few of the old timers left  from Lindenhurst  community that was full of  unique charters . But none more unique than you.
 I valued your friend ship and wisdom  then and now I will value it every time I pass by a certain joint we used to frequent and share that wisdom.
Jackie and I will miss you.

What I remember most about CA was being at the Lindenhurst Men's club. When Roger and my brother Steve and I would run around he would always stick up for us when we got caught and in trouble. He knew everyone it seemed like and was talking and helping everyone out at that club. I never seen a man so involved and helping people out more than CA. Everyone at that club loved CA he would walk in the room and all of a sudden it got louder because he walked in and everyone wanted to talk to him. You will be missed CA love you.  My heart goes out to the Anderson clan.  

Grandpa loved entertaining the room!  Whether it be with his stories or song.  He always made sure that I remembered what was most important in life which is respect.  He loved to have a good laugh and loved his family.  When we played cards he would always say “down is down!!!!”.  He was serious about the game and said you needed to figure out how to play your cards right bc in life you don’t always get another chance.  I remember him back in the Florida days when he would just work endlessly on his lawn.  I remember laying in grandma and grandpas bed watching mtv or Nickelodeon if we got burnt out from too much swimming in the hot summer sun.  You could always tell which pillow was grandmas and which one was grandpas bc of the smell.  He loved us and we love him.
