Constance Marie DiGirolamo

Funeral service for Constance “Connie” DiGirolamo (nee Daugherty), 71, January 4, 2020 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee. Visitation is Saturday, January 4, 10am -12pm, with a Remembrance Service to follow immediately at the funeral home.

She was born October 6, 1948 in Chicago and died December 14, 2019 at ManorCare Health Services – Libertyville, due to complications from lung cancer, where she was surrounded by loved ones.

Connie was a fiercely loving and loyal woman, daughter, mother, grandmother and girlfriend, who preferred to live a quiet, simple life. She was known for her sharp wit and endless love of laughter. Devoted to her family most of her life, she never forgot a birthday or special day. She cared deeply for others, and made it a habit to put others’ needs ahead of her own. This was apparent when she put her life aside for over a year, to take care of her elderly mother. Hobbies/Passions were attending craft shows to add to her country aesthetic, all things Boyd’s Bears related, baking, watching cooking shows, disco and Motown music, and loved hearing about anything related to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children Michelle (Steve) Thompson, Jennifer (Matthew) Malinsky, her grandchildren Alexandria, Elizabeth, Keegan, Liam, her great granddaughter (due in March), her sister Mary (Don) Willis, her brothers Kevin (Stephanie) Daugherty and Brian Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her father James Daugherty, her mother Barbara Daugherty, her daughter Angela Marie, and her brother Richard Daugherty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
