Donato Uy Nunag

Donato Uy Nunag was born January 9, 1934 in Manila, Philippines and passed peacefully on July 9, 2013 at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, Illinois. The family would like to thank all the individuals who helped care for him at Vista East Hospital and V.A. Health Center. Donato and his wife Erlinda were well known in the Waukegan community and they owned and operated the Waukegan Oriental Store for almost 35 years until Donato retired due to his poor health. Donato proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years retiring in 1977. He was also a Free Mason and belonged to the Waukegan and Rockford Masonic Lodges. He will be greatly missed by many and most especially by his surviving family members; wife Erlinda Palacio Nunag, children Alice P. Nunag, Norman P. Nunag, Jocelyn Nunag-Hicks and remaining sibling Alfredo Uy Nunag. He will also be greatly missed by his five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many family and friends in the local community and throughout the world. Visitation will be Friday July 12, 2013 at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee 305 N. Cemetery Road in Gurnee, Illinois from 3-9pm. Funeral Mass will be Saturday July 13, 2013 at St. Anastasia Church 624 Douglas in Waukegan, IL at 10 am. Interment will be in Fort Sheridan Cemetery in Highwood, Illinois.
