

Gerald J. White, 83, of Waukegan passed away on July 30, 2015 at Lake Forest Hospital. He was born on January 22, 1932 in Waukegan to James and Frances White. He graduated from Waukegan High school in 1950. Received a Bachelor’s Degree from Notre Dame in 1958 and a Master’s Degree from De Paul University. Worked at Abbott Lab for 2 years and served in the US Army for also 2 years. Taught at St. Mary’s H.S. Mount Clemmons, MI for 4 years and also at North Chicago H.S. for 30 years, teaching US History and coaching baseball. Was a counselor at Culver Military Academy for 20 years at the Woodcraft summer camp. Volunteered at SPRED for many years at Most Blessed Trinity. He loved his yearly trips to British Columbia hiking in the mountains. He also enjoyed many years of attending Notre Dame football games and was a Chicago White Sox fan.
Gerald is survived by his sister Rhea White; cousins; Violet Gibbs of Colorado Springs, CO, Ralph Kenyon of McHenry, IL, Robert White of Antioch, IL Marylinda Snow of FL, Constance Wahlin of Riverside, CA and William Blake of Honor, MI., Roger Grodeon, Ty Grodeon of Mascoutah, IL Jeannine Gibbs-Heart of Colorado Springs, CO, Kathleen (Roy) Anderson and family of Grayslake, IL, Richard (Candace) Kenyon and family of Round Lake Park, Illinois, Philip (Kimberly) Kenyon of California, MD, Mary (Robert) Fritz and family of Spring Grove, IL, and his beloved dog Ginger.
A visitation will be held of Monday, August 3, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at Marsh Funeral Home. Funeral mass on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10am at Most Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 450 Keller Ave. Waukegan, Illinois. Interment at Ascension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
