So sorry to hear about your loss. Our family went to Mother of God with the Medina family. Many great memories. Irene had a great personality and was a joy to be around just like George and Juanita.

Growing up with Irene was so much fun...playing in the basement at each of our houses, eating Aunt Rosie's fabulous taco's at the house on Wadsworth. When we grew up, Irene faced some tough challenges in life, yet every time I saw her she smiled, took the time to catch up on things, and of course LAUGHED! You just had to laugh if you were going to spend any time at all with Irene because her laughter was so contagious. Irene and my daughter Valerie shared a love of shoes, so we lovingly referred to Irene as "The shoe Queen".   Dear cousin, your memory will always be treasured. Even though I hold back the tears, I can't help but smile as I think of you. We love you Irene!

No person is born without death as the final destination. Our lives are filled with memories of those who have crossed our paths, or have gone before us. We bless the births and rejoice in them, yet death hath its own mystery. This life we drift through is but a stop on our ultimate journey, and it is one we travel with others. Death has no partner, and it has no sorrow. But it does have the arms of our Father to comfort us. Tears are shed at this time, and they provide relief. But, the memory of our loved ones provide the sustenance to continue our journey here. My condolences to the Medina family, my prayers are with you. Life is not easy, but our Lord has plans for all of us.

So many thoughts and great memories of growing up together.  Eating hot dogs at your house that were the best because your mom, Aunt Rosie, put mayonnaise on the bun, playing hide and seek with flash lights, Christmas eve at Grandma Cruz's house and the list goes on. Irene was such an inspiration in my Life. As teens, her grace and presence and Zest for life was contagious. Irene Loved Life and loved people in general never judging and bringing out the best in everyone she encountered. As Adults, We often chatted and and reminisced about our youths often laughing much and always ended with a Hearty hug. May you Rest Well My Dear friend.It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives. Until we meet again.......

Irene was not only my cousin she was my friend.  We double dated when we were in Highschool, worked at Cardon Pirie Scott together, Irene worked in menswear.  I visited her there a lot.  

The last time we got together we were both crying with laughter as we talked about old times.  

Irene was my confidant, always ready to lend an ear and gave good advice if asked.  

The world is a lesser place now that Irene has passed and I will miss her.

Irene was a proud member of the Waukegan West High School - Class of 1981.  She actively participated in all reunions and kept in touch with classmates in the area.  From our homes to the Medina Family, please know that Irene brought a smile to all of our faces and peace to our hearts.   With fond memories and blessings of peace for the family.
