Juan Delgado Hernandez

Juan D. Hernandez, age 76, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2023 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Juan was born on May 29, 1947 in San Benito, Texas to Jesus Sr. and Juanita (Delgado) Hernandez. He was educated in the schools of San Benito and graduated from high school in 1966. Juan enlisted in the United States Army on November 25, 1966, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in November 1969. Juan married Yolanda Torres in Waukegan on November 10, 1969. He worked for 33 years with Abbott Labs. He was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church. Juan also volunteered with Most Blessed Trinity’s food pantry. He enjoyed crossword and search puzzles, bowling, camping and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, who he adored.

He was preceded in death by, his parents; a daughter, Christina Hernandez and two brothers, Enrique and Jesus Jr.

Juan is survived by, his wife of over 53 years, Yolanda; three daughters, Maria (Osias Jr.) Fernandez, Cynthia (Ledin) Ixtiapale and Tammy Hernandez; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; his sister, Gloria Hernandez as well as many other relatives and friends.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Juan that will be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at Most Blessed Trinity Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 450 Keller Avenue, Waukegan, Illnois 60085 starting at 11:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at church starting at 12:00 P.M. with interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
