Kenneth Howard Janda

Kenneth Howard Janda, age 91, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023. He was from Gurnee, Illinois previously of Wildwood, Illinois. Ken was born on June 16th, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Otto and Helen Janda. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later retired from Abbott Labs. Ken was "Mr. Fix-it". He could fix ANYTHING. He was also his children's and grandchildren's biggest fan; coaching, mentoring or watching from the sidelines.

Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years, Claudia (Peifer); 5 children, Cathy (Steve) Chesher, Ken (Ellen), Tom (Julie), Cheryl, Christine (Tracy) Rubo; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Janda. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Janda; brother, Richard; sisters; Eleanore Von Bank and Nancy Johnson.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Kenneth that will be held Friday, May 12th, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois 60030. Burial at Ascension Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 1920 West Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois 60048.
