Lloyd B. Howard

Howard, Lloyd B. 85, passed away at Piedmont Hospice House, Greenwood, SC on Wednesday February 23, 2011. He was born January 17, 1926 in Chicago Ht’s, IL the son o Lloyd and Jeanette Howard. He graduated from Waukegan High School and immediately enlisted in the Army Air Force. Upon his return from the service, he met Irene, his wife of 59 years on a blind date. They were married August 7, 1948. Their union blessed them with 4 children, Diane, Douglas, Jill and David. He was a member of the Sportman’s Club, a leader for Boy Pioneers at Immanuel Lutheran Church and past president of the Stick and Rudder Club. Lloyd bowled on several bowling leagues and golfed throughout the years with his buddies. He started up the Howard Surveying Business in 1954 which is still run by the family. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 50 years where he served as an elder. He is survived by his children Diane (Ken) Smith of Virgina Beach, VA, Douglas (Pam) Howard of Trevor, WI, Jill (Kevin) Lenihan of Waukegan, IL and David (Lisa) Howard of Beach Park, IL. Grandchildren Ken (Stacey) Bair, Frank (Leslie) Bair, Roxanne Cox, David Jon, Scott and Tyler Howard, and Jennifer and Patrick Lenihan, great-granchildren Donovan, Haley, Benjamin and Christopher. Also surviving is his sister Norma (George) Johns of Huntington, IN, a sister-in-law Delores Howard of Sacramento, CA, his wife of 2 years Carol Howard and family of Abbevill, SC. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Irene, brother Jon, grandson Ricky, great grandchild Skylar and his parents. Visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Home, Friday March 11 from 5 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 620 Grove Ave. Waukegan, IL. Visitation 10am service at 11am. Interment at Northshore Garden of Memories.
