Maria F Campos

Maria F. Campos, Doña Mari, passed after a heroic fight on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Maria was born in Temaxcalapa, Guerrero, Mexico on October 8, 1953 to Reyna Flores Gama and Felix Martinez Bahena. She lived a happy life and is survived by her husband of 51 years, Irineo Campos, and their three children Jesus Javier (Vanessa), Jeanette (Quincy), and William (Christine). She is also survived by eight grandsons Edgar, David, Andrew, Samuel, Julian, Marcus, Augustus, Tiberius, and great granddaughter, Nyellie.

Maria is the eldest of seven children. She is survived by her brother Juan Martinez (Silvia), and her sisters Rogelia Herrera Martinez (Jose), Marcelina Martinez (Horacio), and Liduvina Martinez (Victor). She was preceded in death by her parents and two youngest sisters Maria Soledad Martinez (Justino) and Leticia Martinez.

As the eldest child, she often took on many roles for her siblings and extended family. She courageously embraced the journey to the United States with her husband in 1976. Once arriving in the United States, she created a life filled with love and purpose. As a result of her determination and dedication to her family, her siblings joined her in the United States.

Maria worked tirelessly to achieve the American Dream. She worked at Bigston Manufacturing, Toshiba, and Cherry Electric from where she retired. She also managed her properties in Mexico with respect, dignity, and humility for all. After retiring, she loved and embraced her role as a housewife, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and passing along her knowledge and wisdom.

Maria loved and helped an immeasurable amount of people. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend. She and her fighting spirit will be missed, but her family is at peace knowing she is no longer suffering and is with her parents and sisters.

A visitation for Maria will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 12th, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. A committal service will occur Friday, April 12, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ascension Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1920 West Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048.

María es la mayor de siete hermanos. Le sobreviven su hermano Juan Martínez (Silvia) y sus hermanas Rogelia Herrera Martínez (José), Marcelina Martínez (Horacio) y Liduvina Martínez (Víctor). Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y dos hermanas menores María Soledad Martínez (Justino) y Leticia Martínez.

Como hija mayor, a menudo asumía muchos roles para sus hermanos y su familia extendida. Ella aceptó con valentía el viaje a los Estados Unidos con su esposo en 1976. Cuando llegó a los Estados Unidos, creó una vida llena de amor y propósito. Como resultado de su determinación y dedicación a su familia, sus hermanos se vinieron y se reunieron con ella en los Estados Unidos.

María trabajó incansablemente para lograr el Sueño Americano. Trabajó en Bigston Manufacturing, Toshiba y Cherry Electric, de donde se jubiló. También administró sus propiedades en México con respeto, dignidad, y humildad para todos. Después de jubilarse, ella amaba y abrazaba su papel de ama de casa, abuela y bisabuela. Le gustaba cuidar a sus nietos y transmitirles su conocimiento y sabiduría.

María amó y ayudó a una grand cantidad de personas. Era hija, esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela, tía, tía abuela, y amiga. La extrañaremos con su espíritu de lucha, pero su familia está en paz sabiendo que ella ya no esta sufriendo y está en paz con sus padres y hermanas.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio para María el viernes 12 de abril de 2024 de 9:00 a. m. a 11:30 a. m. en Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. Se llevará a cabo un funeral el viernes 12 de abril de 2024 a partir de 11:30 a. m. a 12:30 p. m., 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. Se realizará un servicio de sepelio el viernes 12 de abril de 2024 de 1:30 p. m. a 2:30 p. m. en el Cementerio y Mausoleo Católico de Ascension, 1920 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.
