

Marion E. “Lefty” Ingram, age 89, of Gurnee passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Lefty was born on October 1, 1933 in McLeansboro, IL to Harlen and Ava (Mathis) Ingram. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and was transferred into the reserves in 1955 where he served until his honorable discharge in 1961. Lefty married Barbara LaBrake in Mundelein, IL on August 5, 1961 and they had 35 wonderful years together until her passing on April 15, 1996. He had a fondness for cars and other vehicles which translated into him becoming an auto body repairman and in his later years delivering auto parts. He worked for Napa Auto Parts, Advance Auto and FSR Auto Parts in Libertyville for many years. His love of vehicles even transferred into his hobbies. Lefty enjoyed working on his trucks and his kids cars and he even rebuilt an old tractor for which he was extremely proud of. Lefty will be missed by everyone that knew him, whether it was for who he was or for his knowledge of vehicles, everyone enjoyed his company. His greatest joy though, was the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by, his parents and his brother Bill Ingram.
Lefty is survived by two children, Ed (Barbara) Ingram and Michael Ingram; six grandchildren, Laci (Lucas) Jones, Michael Ingram, Aaron Ingram, Amanda Ingram, Allyssa (Justin) Eklove and Alleya Ingram; four great grandchildren, Hoyt Lee Jones, Ava Ingram-Mow, Lillian Eklove and Eleanor Eklove as well as other family and many friends.
A celebration of Lefty’s life will be held at a later date.
