Mary Ellen Carter

Mary was born to the union of Sylvester D. and Julia Clinkscales in Anderson, South Carolina. She was last employed as a housekeeping supervisor at the Veterans Administration Hospital. She accepted Christ and worshiped at First Corinthian Missionary

Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL. She gave her life and everything she had to helping family whenever they were in need.

Whether it was requested or she recognized the need, she was always willing to share her wisdom, compassion and nurturing

spirit to family, friends and even strangers. If you knew her, you know she was a genuine giver. She leaves to cherish her memories children: Waymon Callahan of North Chicago; Sylvester (Dorethia) Callahan of Waukegan; Joyce (Charles) Bean of North Chicago, IL; Jo Ann (Michael) McBride of North Chicago, IL; Lou Ellen (Robert) Burton of North Chicago, IL.; 24 grandchildren and 84 great grandchildren; 44 great-great grandchildren. Her siblings: Isabella Moss (Raleigh - deceased) of North Chicago; Josephine Blow (William - deceased) of Waukegan, IL and Doris Patterson (Charles - deceased) of Waukegan; and ahost of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Sylvester D. and Julia Clinkscales; Siblings: Sylvester, Martin and Robert Clinkscales; Grandson: Michael “Snip” McBride.
