Monica V. Ply

Monica V Ply, age 88, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021. Monica was born April 21, 1933 in Danville, IL. to Mathew and Agnes Rotkis. Monica grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and graduated from St. Catherine's High School in Racine. She married Robert Ply on April 23, 1955. They became a navy family living in Camp David, Sheboygan and Great Lakes where they settled and she became a book keeper at North Chicago Lumber. Monica was a member of St. Gilbert's Catholic Church in Grayslake, IL. She volunteered at the V.A. for many years and loved her veterans.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2008; her sisters, Kay and Rose and brothers, Johnny and Butch. She is survived by her two sons; Steve (Jeannie) Ply of San Marcos, TX and Brian Ply of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Candice, Wesley, Heather and Kaitlyn; and great grandchild Hays; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Monica will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A graveside service will occur the following day, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Fort Sheridan Post Cemetery, Vattner Rd, Fort Sheridan, IL 60037. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Journey Hospice.
