Pauline Ware

Mrs. Pauline (Staples) Ware was born to the union of Homer and Lula Staples on January 31, 1936 in Atmore, Alabama. She was one of twelve children and was baptized at an early age. Pauline graduated from Escambia County Training School in 1954 in Atmore Alabama. She moved to Waukegan to be with her brother Arthur Lee Staples. There she began working at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago, IL.

Eventually Pauline married her life partner Mr. Robert Ware who preceded her in death in 2007 and to this union four children were born, Valerie, Carolyn, Lance and Kent. After raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, Pauline worked at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan and retired after 35 years.

Pauline was a wonderful, loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking meals for the family especially during the major holidays where she would have family gatherings at her home. She also enjoyed gardening, enjoying family visits and travel with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and seven brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory: Four children, Valerie, Carolyn, Lance and Kent; 5 grandchildren; two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Pauline that will be held Thursday, January 11th, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 12th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. A committal service will occur Friday, January 12th, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Road, Zion, Illinois 60099.
