

Richard (Rick) Arthur Chaput, 64, of Libertyville passed away suddenly on February 05, 2014 while vacationing in the Grand Cayman. He was doing what he loved best, vacationing with his wife and good friends. Rick was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 19, 1949 to Edward and Carol (nee Bethe) Chaput. He graduated college in December 1972 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin/Stout. He worked in sales his entire life and earned many top awards.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mardianne (nee Wiksten) who was his college sweetheart and they married on May 19, 1973. Rick also leaves behind a daughter, Regina (Nels) Rozhon of Mundelein, IL; 2 grandchildren Mikayla and Andrew; mother, Carol Chaput; 5 brothers: Vernon, James (Gail), Peter (Melanie), Joseph (Jodi) and Paul; 5 sisters: Madelyn (Conrado) Arana, Mary Beth (Ricardo) Gandolfo, Michele (Trevor) Strang, Monica and Jane (Ric) Schneider; and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Edward; 2 brothers; John and Scott (Donna).
Rick was an avid fisherman and camper. He also enjoyed bowling, reading, downhill skiing, playing cards, spending quality time with his Brittney Spaniel Kirby and spoiling his grandchildren. His laughter, smile and easy-going attitude will be remembered and missed by many.
Visitation will be held 1-3pm on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL. A brief memorial service will follow immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to help defer the cost of bringing Rick home from the Caribbean or donations to be made to aid in Diabetes research at the American Diabetes Association in Memorial of Rick Chaput.
