Bob was born on March 23rd, 1963 in Chicago, IL to Vencl and Louise Somodji. He attended Marist High School and later graduated from Saint Xavier University.
During his working years in various roles, Bob was consistently the most valuable member of the team at Resource Technology Associates. Bob could talk to anybody about anything, and was exceedingly charming and kind.
After retiring, Bob was a volunteer job coach working with young adults with special needs in the Highland Park area. He considered this to be the most rewarding professional experience of his life.
In his spare time, Bob was a musician, an avid reader, a lover of movies, and always ready to laugh at a joke. He was consistently approachable, ready to help anyone solve any kind of problem, and a wonderful friend.
Bob is survived by his partner Betsy, daughter Brigid (Mike), grandchildren Lily and Leo, brother Tom (Christine), and nieces Rebecca and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vencl and Louise Somodji.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Lutheran General Hospital for their excellent care and compassion for Bob and for us. We would also express our gratitude for the staff of Advocate Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852, are appreciated.
A celebration of Bob's life is being planned as he always loved a good party!
