

Roy Clarence Prouty Jr, age 79 of Lake Villa, Illinois passed away peacefully on March 1,2025 surrounded by his family when he took his last breath. Roy was born in Libertyville, Illinois on September 26, 1945 to Roy Sr and Marian Prouty. He grew up in Half Day before moving to Lake Zurich and graduated from Ela Vernon High School. Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Vet.
When he returned home from Vietnam, he married Sandra Hoch on May 31,1969 and several years later had two children, Dana and Kyle. In 2003 Roy and Sandra divorced, but remained amicable. Roy learned the trade of dental technician and worked with several dental offices making dentures. He also worked as a bus driver and spent the last 19 years driving for Grant Community High School. He enjoyed his time with his fellow drivers and driving and taking on additional trips for school sporting events. He loved spending time on the water fishing and attending events for his grandchildren. He also enjoyed telling stories about his time with his lifelong friends Bill Westfall and Frank Mathis.
Roy leaves behind his two children, Dana (Ryan Kriz), and Kyle (Mauri) Prouty, 8 grandchildren, Madeline, Maxwell, Myles, Maizie, Mollie, Millie, Hailey and Henry. Roy is further survived by his mother, Marian Prouty, sisters, Linda Davies, Barbara Thielen, Donna Billimack, brother Allen Prouty, his nieces Cathy Thielen, Marianne Comp, Wynne Vrchota, Kate Roundy and nephews Jacob Davies, Nate Billimack and Jesse Billimack.
Roy is preceded in death by his father, Roy C. Prouty and brother-in-laws, Michael Thielen and Richard Billimack.
A funeral service will be March 15, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church in Antioch, Illinois. Visitation 9:00 am to 11:30 am and Service with Military Honors Immediately following at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Roy’s honor where he attended for over 40 years.
