Sharon Elizabeth Clifford

Sharon was born on July 5th, 1946 in Kankakee IL. She was raised by Charles and Martha Asherman. She attended Bogan High School in Chicago, graduating in 1964. She then attended Northern Michigan University, where she met Bob Preston. They were married in March and June of 1967. They made their home in Waukegan.

Sharon was a proud member of the Republican Party. During her time in Palatine, she attended Women’s Club meetings regularly. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Waukegan, and in her later days, All Saints Church.

She loved to celebrate the holidays and cook with her husband Bob, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sharon was “Mom” to everyone and loved when her kid’s friends would call her that.

She was a wonderful woman whose memory will live on in those who were fortunate to know and love her.

Sharon is survived by her children, Kirk (Carmen) Preston, Heather Preston, and Jesse (Eriko) Meneses; grandchildren Krystal, Gabriela, Julian, Kohshi, and Ian; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Juli Stone, and brother Douglas Asherman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha Asherman; husbands Robert Preston, and James Clifford; brothers Kent Linton and Christopher Asherman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the American Legion, 749 Milwaukee Ave, Gurnee IL.
