Shirley D. Sallis

Shirley Darlene Sallis (nee Gaydosh) Age 73, of Antioch, Illinois passed away October 19, 2010 at Condell Hospital. She was born May 14, 1937 in Ithaca, NY. Shirley moved to Zion, IL at the age of 16 where she graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1955. She was very active in majorettes, cheerleading and art and known to many as "CeCe". She worked in the secretarial field most of her life. She had a great love for all animals especially horses and was a member of the Big Z Riding Club. Other passions were riding motorcycles and traveling with her many cycling friends. We will all miss "Ma's" sense of humor and forever young way of living. Shirley is survived by son, Bobby G. (Beverly) Parker of Belmont, MS; daughter, Melody P. (Robert) Bode of Gurnee, IL; brother, Carlton Gaydosh of Lodi, CA; sister, Sharon (Richard) Mulloy of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Josh and Taylor Parker, Hunter, Robert Jr., and Rylee Bode; nephews, Sean and Ryan Mulloy, Jason Gaydosh. Preceded in death by her parents Stephen T. Gaydosh of Ithaca, NY and Shirley P. Sawyer of Zion, IL. Visitation will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 from 11a.m. till time of service 1pm at Marsh Funeral Home.
