Sophie W. Merelos, age 77, of Waukegan, passed away August 23, 2010 in Westmont, IL. She was born October 8, 1932 in Greece. Sophie was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She owned Central Restaurant in downtown Waukegan. Beloved mother of Erene (Peter) Panos and George (Janisse) Merelos; loving grandmother of Irene (Michael) Evert, Nickolas (Amanda) Panos, Sophia (Robert) Krueger, Alethea and Stephanie Merelos and great-grandmother of Peter and Angelina. Preceded in death by her husband, William G. Merelos. Visitation Friday, August 27th from 5:00-8:00p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Road. Services Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 O'Plaine Rd., Libertyville, IL. Burial Northshore Garden of Memories.
