

Steven Patrick Ofenloch suddenly passed away after a brief illness on December 23, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. He will always be remembered for his kind, calm demeanor and peaceful nature. Steve was an exceptionally talented classical guitarist. He studied under the
respected teacher Nico Angel at Jack Benny School of Fine Arts and attended Arlington Heights School of Music. You could find Steve and his two nephews Darrick and Mark performing together and making recordings. Teaching others that were eager to learn became a part of his life too. He practiced DA Liu Yang style Tai Chi for over 28 years and taught structured Tai Chi meditation class for six years. He was dedicated to helping others reach their highest potential in physical, emotional and spiritual development. Steve went on to teach a master level class independently for the last four years. He made a lasting
positive impact on students and teachers that he connected with. Accounting was another of his accomplishments as he worked as an accountant in the healthcare industry for 21 years.
Steve was the youngest of seven siblings to Robert and Shirley (Ohlson) Ofenloch of Waukegan, Illinois.
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Warren Ofenloch, Dave (Paula) Ofenloch, Dan Ofenloch, Janice Ofenloch, and Linda Ofenloch, nephews, Darrick (Ambar) Ofenloch, Axel Ofenloch, and Michael Valdes, and cousins, Kimberly Hedgpeth, Lori (Sly) Hedgpeth, Jim Hedgpeth and Lisa Lopez,
and Michelle Myers, partner,teacher,mentor and best friend for 14 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Shirley (Ohlson) Ofenloch, and
brother Gerry Ofenloch and nephew Mark Ofenloch.
